SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908 includes a focus on cloud based solutions and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), along with a host of other new features. As part of the role out SAP TechEd are organizing over 30 lectures and 20 practical workshops to get you up to speed with all the new features and functionality.
Here are some of the highlights from SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908
Finance
The latest version of SAP allows for the automatic or manual entering of bank statements. In both cases the cloud system will assign and clear the payments automatically. The analytics cloud for planning enables integrated financial planning, all within the cloud.
Manufacturing and Overdue Stock
There is a new medium to long-term planning simulator, the pMRP. This will identify and capacity issues and evaluates solutions. The new Sap Fori apps will help you fix any capacity issues while also keeping stock to a minimum.
They introduce a new process for handling overdue stock. This can be used through the ‘Manage Situation Type’ app and allows you to create custom templates. If there are delays in stock orders, it sends an automatic notification to the team responsible.
Sourcing and Procurement
SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1908 increases the use of machine learning and integrates it into Intelligent Approval Workflow in procurement. This intelligent system will automatically assign a classification to purchase requisition approvals, based on several previously used criteria, such as, price, source, materials, and more.
If any RFQ (request for quotation) submission deadlines are approaching and there has been a low level of submissions of supplier quotations then you receive an automatic notification. This allows you to rectify the problem and chase up invited bidders.
Service Management
New processes help you analyse profit margins. You can now offer service products, service parts, and expensive items as a composite service. This will work by listing one main item on the customer billing, while leaving off as many sub items, as you require.
There is now a basic integration of SAP Field Service Management permitting automatic optimization.
Professional Services
In Previous versions of SAP billing was based on three contract types. Those types were; fixed price, periodic service price, and time and expense. There is now a fourth contract type, Usage Based Billing, which allows you to bill services based on usage volume.
SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation (iRPA)
The iRPA creates an end-to-end automation stack for self-driving enterprises. This allows you to better manage project services and manufacturing processes. It also encourages small enterprises to run independent ERP systems in the cloud.
